INTRODUCING THE WEDDING STUDIO BERKSHIRE
The Wedding Studio Berkshire is home to a gorgeous selection of UNBRIDLED STUDIO pieces. Based in Wokingham, with excellent connections to London and the Home Counties; this elegant bridal oasis is a destination for the timeless romantic. Here, you can discover your bridal style with confidence in a relaxed, intimate space, with thoughtful guidance. We spoke to Emily, the founder to hear more about the story behind her boutique and her personalised approach to bridal styling.
What inspired you to open The Wedding Studio Berkshire?
My obsession with all things wedding started when I was just four years old at my Auntie and Uncle’s wedding. I vividly remember the moment she whisked off a detachable silk taffeta overskirt to reveal the most chic evening look underneath. That moment obviously planted the seed for what would one day become my own bridal studio.
Then, when it came to shopping for my own wedding dress, my excitement levels were through the roof. But the experience itself left me feeling surprisingly underwhelmed. Everything felt the same, I was limited to trying on a fixed number of dresses, photographs weren’t allowed, and barely a glass of water was offered. It all felt very transactional — very much about the sale — and my excitement wasn’t really matched.
When I decided to open The Wedding Studio Berkshire (TWSB), I was determined to create something different. A place where the bride truly sits at the heart of everything, and where I could simplify what can sometimes feel like a very overwhelming process by bringing together a carefully considered collection of timeless, beautiful bridal wear.
What is your vision for The Wedding Studio Berkshire?
I always wanted The Wedding Studio Berkshire to feel like a beautifully curated edit rather than an overwhelming showroom. Every gown has a purpose and every appointment is intentional.
It’s very much about quality over quantity — championing craftsmanship, thoughtful design and independent brands that are doing something a little different. More than anything, I want it to be a space where women feel confident making bold, stylish choices while still honouring tradition in their own way.
Describe the experience for brides visiting The Wedding Studio Berkshire from the moment they walk through the door.
It actually begins before a bride even walks through the door, as nine times out of ten we’ve already spoken in some form before her appointment. Whether that’s chatting through the dresses she’s excited to try, answering questions, calming a few nerves, or simply because she’s been following my journey on Instagram and we’ve already built a lovely rapport — I love it when that happens.
From the moment she arrives, I want her to exhale and feel like she’s in the company of a trusted friend. The space is calm, private and welcoming — no rails crammed with hundreds of dresses and absolutely no pressure.
Appointments are always one-to-one and intentionally relaxed but focused. No two appointments are ever the same and I never follow a strict formula. It’s really about getting to know each bride, understanding where she is in the process and what kind of experience she’s hoping for.
From there, it’s about helping her navigate any overwhelm, explore the possibilities and ultimately focus on how she feels in each piece. All whilst having a lovely time!
What do you look for when selecting gowns and designers for your boutique?
When selecting designers for TWSB, I have a very clear vision. I’m drawn to labels that sit slightly outside the traditional bridal landscape — independent brands whose values and aesthetic align closely with my own.
Craftsmanship and integrity of design matter enormously. But just as important to me are the relationships I build with the designers and their teams. I really believe in forming genuine partnerships rather than simply a supplier and stockist relationship.
Working closely together allows us to support each bride in a much more considered way — whether that’s design customisations, bespoke sizing or helping to manage shorter timelines. It gives my brides that flexibility and the opportunity to create something that feels completely right for them.
I feel incredibly lucky to work with a beautiful edit of independent, female-founded labels from the UK and beyond. Each one brings something different to the collection, but they all share the same level of care, creativity and intention that I try to bring to every appointment.
Tell us what you love about Unbridled Studio?
Each of the designers I’ve chosen for The Wedding Studio Berkshire has their own distinctive identity, and Unbridled Studio is no exception.
I love how fashion-forward the brand feels — it’s modern and a little unexpected within the bridal space. The approach to separates is just brilliant. I love the idea that something as simple as a beautifully cut top can completely transform a bridal look.
The versatility of the pieces is something I adore too. Brides can mix and match different elements to create a look that feels entirely their own, and it makes the styling process really fun during appointments.
And of course, the craftsmanship is exceptional. The quality and attention to detail in every piece is incredible, which makes them such a joy to introduce to my brides.
